Global Serv is dedicated to promoting a Beta Test environment for Early Adopters of our software solutions. The aim is to ensure that any issues found during beta tests are brought to the immediate attention of the Development and Quality Assurance teams. Our goal is to make certain that all products ship with no defects. And, we strive to improve the markets knowledge of how particular products operate so that the final deployment is a seamless process for all end users.

Global Serv currently offers an Early Adoption Beta Program for operators of large data center and various unique environments who own select brands of KVM switches, remote power and/or other video switches. The Early Adoption Beta Program is designed to assist Global Serv bring long term value to our partners and customers.

Below you will find answers to many questions about the Early Adoption Beta Program. If you have additional questions, please use the "Information Request Form" to contact the program administrator.

What is the "Global Serv Beta Program"?
The Beta Program is designed to meet the long term needs of our beta test sites. It's a central point of contact between GSI developement and engineering teams and customers. The beta test process helps Global Serv determine the quality of a product before it is released to the general public. Authorized and Public beta sites find and report additional problems while using Global Serv beta products in a variety of operatng environments.

What is an Authorized Beta site?
An Authorized beta site is an early adoptor who has been specially selected to work with our beta administators and development teams.

What are the requirements to be an Authorized Beta test site?
An authorized beta site must commit to the following:

  • Have a means to test at least two features of the product.
  • Operate product for a minimum of 10 hours a week.
  • Install solution within 5 days of receiving it.
  • Report defects found during beta program.
  • Retest defects with updated solution code.
  • Participate in conference calls, as scheduled.
  • Complete periodic surveys as required.
  • Provide feedback to engineering on reliability and stability.
  • Provide feedback to engineering on product readiness for the marketplace.
  • Provide feedback on product documentation and help systems.
  • Provide KVM switch and computer hardware to adequately test the product.
  • $250,000 spent in application, user and server desktop licenses.

When does Global Serv conduct beta projects?
Beta program durations are determined by the development cycle of each software solution and/or upgrade. Information on an upcoming product or upgrade is not publicly available.

How do I become an Authorized Early Adoption Beta site?
To enquire about becoming an authorized early adoption beta site, please indicate the vendor and model of switch product(s) you are using, the number of data centers involved and the number of servers managed on those switches. Indicate your interest in participating by submitting the "Information Request Form".
